Blind Date, solo-show

Director, actor and improvisor Rebecca Northan from Canada came to Oslo to learn my colleague Cathrine Frost and myself to play her own invention; Mimi in the play Blind Date. It’s been a hit Off Broadway and in the West End and we were very honored to have her in Oslo to teach and direct us. It is sort of a solo performance starting off with Mimi, the french clown (clown in a very subtle way other than the very visible red nose), waiting alone at a café, she’s been stood up on a date but suddenly she has an idea; why not ask someone from the audience to be her date? And for the rest of the 90 minute long play we see the relationship between Mimi and the audience-member develop from their first date and onwards. I´ll never forget the fire fighter, visiting the theatre with his two teenage daughters and one of their boyfriends, that ended up being my premiere date. He completely won the audience over with his warmth and sincerity.
